~ China’s 1st Mass Produced Hybrid -Chery A5 ISG
China gets on the “green bandwagon” with their very first mass produced hybrid vehicle.
The Chery A5 ISG is powered by a 1.3 ltr. engine small in comparison to other hybrid engines.
The Chery A5 ISG will use a 5 speed manual transmission breaking away from the norm of using a CVT.
The battery power has yet to be announced, it will be very interesting to see what will power this steel bodied vehicle. One would assume that with the 1.3 ltr. motor the battery power plant will be of the latest developments.
The big question will be if the Chery A5 ISG will be able to compete with the likes of Toyota and Honda who have pretty much perfected hybrid vehicles as we know them today.
It is expected that the Chery A5 Hybrid will be one of the cheapest on the market today - That may just be a big contibuting factor to their success.
